Guatapé Small Ring

We made it to a small town in Colombia called Guatapé couple of days ago, where we’re staying with Guatape Motos (you can check them out) as our Workaway host for about a month.

The first task we got as volunteers was to get on a Honda CB125 and explore the surrounding areas. Since we had only an hour that day we’ve decided to go for the “Small Ring” that goes up in the mountains.

Of course, I misjudged the distances so we went further then our turn we should’ve taken, but on the way back we found it and completed the ring.

The bike using all 14 hp that it had below the two of us was struggling a bit uphill, but it was easy to handle and manoeuvre on the roads, which here are often dirty, damaged or unpaved. The bike did it’s job perfectly and we got around in the mountains nicely even through the holes, dirt and rocks themselves.

Compared to the experience in Bogotá people here were using the blinkers to indicate direction instead of the horn, that made driving much smoother.

Although it was a short ride it help with my bike withdrawal and we knew it wasn’t the last we drove in the neighborhood.
