First trip as official tour guide

We are still in Guatapé and Guatapé Motos just had it’s first half day tour. Yaay 🏍️🤸👏🎉🎊

I was asked to be on standby and when only one couple showed up I was sure my presence will not be needed. I waited half an hour for the other couple who wanted to participate, but they never made it, probably the clouds scared them.

I said, what the heck, let’s go anyway, so I hopped on a bike and went after the tour. And later they were so glad I did.

I caught up with them at the first stop, the Mirador, and continued our trip towards San Rafael with short stops for taking photos of the beautiful surrounding.

After crossing two mountains we were stopped at the border of San Rafael by a landslide that covered the whole road. Very slowly one by one we made it through and parked our bikes on the main square.

San Rafael is a very pretty Paisa town with a lot of coffee shops, bakeries and a fruit market. We sat down at a place where they served fresh smoothies and got some pandebonos from the bakery nearby. After sampling the local fruit selection we had a coffee and turned back towards Guatapé.

After crossing the landslide again, we had one more stop, the La Cazuela waterfall. As soon as we turned right towards it, it was evident, that the scooter will not be able to cope with the dirt road in such mud, so the other guide took the driver I took the passenger on my bike and we drove them 15 minutes to the waterfall.

It was breathtaking. A little pool where you can swim, and jump to if brave enough, made the waterfall a perfect place to spend a couple hours.

Once we had enough fun there, we took the guys back to the scooter and made our way to Guatapé. We had a little rain at the last 5 minutes, but everyone enjoyed the tour and all promised to share the experience with friends.
